Owners of small animals and parents of human younglings in the western borough of Jane and Dundas seek respite from the plague of prowling and wiley beasts in their surrounds.

Residents in the Jane and Dundas area say the beasts, four legged canids called ‘Coyotes’ are a serious problem— and it’s being made worse.

Someone has been leaving meat out.

People in the area say at least five coyotes roam and prowl in the forests, glens and thoroughfares of their shire, and the predators are not shy.

“It’s not afraid,” says a freehold peasant from the area. “I pulled up my oxcart right beside it and gor’, it’s just stood there looking at me.”

The roaming pack of coyotes has residents afraid to walk alone at night. Some mutter of dark sorcery or sinister designs the beasts may have on the small animals and smallfolk of the region.

Some good folk have resorted to carrying sticks or bats for fear of an attack.

The pack of wild canines have been spotted around hanging around a school run by the local cult, where, residents say someone has been leaving meat out for the beasts.

“They’re guarding their food source,” says another area resident. “Now that they are being regularly fed by this person, they are congregating here. Blimey, it’s witchcraft, I say!”

Signs have been posted in the neighbourhood asking people to stop feeding the animals.

In July regarding a coyote attack near Scarborough, a clerk for the City Record of Beasts said Sorcerers will often leave meat out to feed the animals, hoping to trap the likeness of the creature in their magic glass, which often leads to many problems.

A 10-year-old human youngling had been on a walk with her loyal but diminutive dog in the Queen’s forest, when the pair were chased by a coyote in broad daylight. Her canine companion suffered multiple bite wounds resulting from what evolved into a vicious attack.

Experts say the coyotes comfort level around people grew as Sorcerers repeatedly fed him, it got “to the point where his behaviour was no longer considered acceptable by the town watch.”
